- I fail to understand WHY you all would leap to this pestimistic attitude with
- this sale. Escom bought the corpse for 10 million and then sold it for 40
- million. This kinda shows you that the Amiga Tech is INCREASING in value by
- four times within a year. I might be worried if Escom sold AT for say only
- five million but this didn't happen!
-
- Even more positive is an interesting post in CSAMisc by fabiain@cais.com that
- quoted VIScorp, ah heck, let me repost it: (reprinted without premission)

- Well we all know that the Amiga will never be a WinTel box. If you need
- Excel and stuff, get a PC, simple. But the Amiga has many virtues left.
- As to developer support, yes it sucks, but then I have always
- appreciated the garage programmer just as much as XYZ corp. As to
- development, Carl of VIScorp has stated the following:

-
- What I have been telling people is not to worry. We are all
- Amiga lovers here. Unlike ESCOM or even Commodore, VIScorp
- does not have a single IBM PC person in the development group.
- We are all solid Amigans from the very beginning. Personally
- speaking, I don't plan on killing the Amiga. In fact, I'm
- hoping to build one killer Amiga!

- Now you may still feel the Amiga is dead, and if so, go and sell your
- Amiga to someone who'll appreciate it. From talking personally to
- VIScorp and hearing what MS wants for a "living room PC" I agree with
- Dave Haynie that the Amiga is still heads and shoulders above the rest.
-
- So go leave and run your Excel. I guess we optimists will still be here
- and happy.
